|1-The Odd and the Awesome
By TinBin / Syndicate
The realm of the odd and the awesome, where human eyes cannot see
and our intelligence becomes insignificant, is all around us. The more
we try to understand, the more we realize that our ancient universe
holds many bizarre, eerie and incredible secrets......

|1-Double Coincidence Time Three
One of the oddest coincidences ever recorded spans a period of nealy
200 years and involved three ship that sank in the Menai off the coast
of Wales The first vessel went down on December 5, 1664, and of its 81
passengers one one, Hugh Williams, survived. On Desember 5, 1785 121 years
later, another ship sank in the Menai Strait and, again, all the
passengers perished except one - named Hugh Williams. Two ships sinking
in the same area on the same day of the month certainly isn`t
earth-shattering.When each of them has only one survivor and both are
named Hugh Williams, it`s a little eerie. But the story doesn`t end at
that. On December 5, 1860, yet another ship, a small 25 passenger
vessel, sank in the Menai Strait. And once again there was only one
survivor - and once again his name was Hugh Williams..

|1-Death Of The Oceans
Oceanographer and conservationist Jacques Cousteau proposes a
horrifing vision of the consequences of mankind`s present exploitation
and pollution of the world`s oceans. If all the oceans aquatic life
were to die suddenly, the decaying organic matter would create an
unbearably foul stench. The wafting odour would drive people from the
fertile coastlines and into the mountains and highlands that could not
hardly support the overwhelming influx of new inhabitants.Far worse,
however, would be the release of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
Without the action of aquatic life which helps to balance the salts and
gases, the carbon dioxide would steadily increase, aggravating the
Greenhouse Effect. Rather than the Earth`s heat radiating into space,
it would be trapped beneath the stratosphere, raising sea-level
temperature to an intolerable point.Polar ice caps would melt, causing
flooding of inimaginable proportions. As nightmarish as such prospects
may they aren`t the only likely possibilites. As the thick film of dead
organic matter coated land and sea, the slime would interfere with
evaporation and subsequent rainfall. The result would be global drought
and famine. The ultimate consequence,30 to 50 years after the oceans
officially die, would be the extinction of the human race and most other
species of animal. Confined to overcrowded areas between dead seas and
sterile mountains and suffering from stavation, disease epidemics and
severe weather conditions Humans will finally succumb to anoxia, or lack
of oxygen. And then life on Earth will be reduced to bacteria and a few
remaining species of insects..

|1-Pure Chance
Frederick Chance was speeding down a lonely road in Stourbridge,
Worcestershire, when he saw the headlights of an oncomming car. As the
vehicles were traveling at high speed, they were unable to swerve in
time to aviod a collision. Emerging from the wreckage with only minor
injuries Chance check in the other car and satisfied himself that its
driver was also relatively unharmed. Thankful that the accident had not
been worse, Chance introduced himself to the other driver. The motorist
was incredulous for he, too was named Frederick Chance.

|1-Accidental Coincidence
On a june night in the 1930`s, highway patrolman Allen Falby from El
Paso, Texas USA, was pursuing a speeding truck. When the vehicle slowed
down as it when around a corner, Falby`s car ploughed into it at full
speed. His leg spurting blood from a ruptured artery, Falby would have
surely died had it not been for Alfred smith, a mere passer-by who
stopped to assist him Smith applied a tourniquet to the patrolman`s leg
to curb the flow of blood until the ambulance arrived, Five years after
his near fatal accident, Falby responded to a radio call for assistance
at the scene of a one car collision The car had crashed head on into a
tree and the unconscious driver had severed and artery in his leg.
Recalling his first aid training, Falby quickly applied a tourniquet,
thus saving the man`s life. Then on closer inspection, he realized that
the injured driver was none other than Alfred Smith, the same man who
had saved his life five years before....

|1-Out Of Body Rescue
At sea for weeks, a British ship out of Liverpool, England, was
moving through the icy North Atlantic waters and headed towards Nova
Scoti in 1828, when the first mate, Robert Bruce, Encountered a stranger
in the captain`s cabin. The man, who bruce knew wasn`t a crew member,
was writting on the blackboard. Suspecting the scribbler was a
stowaway, Bruce ran to get the captain. When the two men returned to
the cabin, the stranger had gone but he had left a message on the
blackboard, reading:`Steer to the Nor`west Calling all hands on deck,
the captain had each one write the message, but no one`s hand writting
matched that of the stranger. Even so, the captain felt it might be
wise to follow the mysterious suggestion and ordered the ship`s course
to be altered. Not long after the captain ordered the crew to steer to
the north west, the ship`s look out spotted another ship that appeared
to be wedged in the ice of the freezing ocean. When all its passengers
were brought safely aboard the British ship, Bruce spotted a man
resembling the stranger in the captain`s cabin. His handwritting was
tested and, sure enough, matched that on the blackboard. According to
the ice bound ship`s passenger, he had fallen asleep just after the
vessel had become stuck in the ice, When he awoke, he had a strong
feeling that they would me rescued. Evidently, the man had a out of
boby experience, projecting himself onto the British ship to deliver an
SOS call.......
